If the surface that the seal rides on isn't perfect it will still leak. Also change the bushing. A new bushing is less than $10 and you don't want to do this sjob again because the bushing wore out. WebJan 27, 2024 · I have a 99 f250 v10 w e4od transmission with 100K miles. Problem is filler tube leaks where it is inserted into transmission. Leaks directly on exhaust pipe. Fluid collects inside heat shield, smokes, boils etc. I removed tube-some red stuff at lip no o-ring, bushing etc. Check with ford dealer no bushing o-ring etc shown on microfitch.
